A one day workshop for violence against women and Aboriginal women's services to support networking and collaboration for women dealing with concurrent issues. Sponsored by the GBVPCC and facilitated by May Tettero and Colleen Purdon. Location: Port Elgin Legion, 630 Green St.

A community forum on Poverty will take place that the Owen Sound Library Auditorium with a panel presentation and small group discussion to develop local strategies for poverty reduction.

Panelists include: Anne Findaly Stewart, Francesca Dobbyn, Anne Tettenborn, Lucy Gower, Dave Trumble and Jenny Wrigt Elliott. The panel will be moderated by Colleen Purdon, and Linda Aldridge will perform several of her songs dealing with poverty issues. All are welcome and there is no charge.

The Inclusive Communities Committee will meet at the new Public Health offices. The committee will finalize a Training Workshop presentation format to address racism and discrimination and prepare the community for the upcoming Restoring the Circle conference in September 2009.

An evening of reflection and celebration on human rights in our community and around the work with speakers, refreshments and conversation in a World Cafe setting. A free event at St. Georges Parish Hall, 1049 4th Ave. East in Owen Sound. All are welcome.

There will be a community gathering with speakers, discussion and refreshments at St. Georges Parish Hall to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
